This place was absolutely adorable, mostly because they had live goats at the front entrance and dozens of other chickens, bunnies, roosters and more animals out back. Very Texas. Very Western. A collection of a little bit of everything from boots and clothes to farm gear and vintage appliances, and so much more in between. We had a lot of fun browsing!

A True Austin Gem for Animal Lovers and Gardeners! Callahan’s General Store is a legendary local institution in Austin. I come here regularly to buy baby chicks and poultry feed, and it never fails to charm me. It is so much more than just a farm supply store; it’s a place where you can truly feel the local community spirit. My favorite part is visiting the small animals. On weekends, they often bring them indoors, creating a wonderful atmosphere accompanied by live music. If you head over to the chick section, you have to look for Miguel, their 8-year-old resident rooster. He is the most gentle "babysitter" for the young chicks and seeing him interact with them is heart-melting! I also love browsing their extensive selection of seeds and high-quality feed. Whether you are a serious urban farmer or just someone who wants to spend a relaxing afternoon looking at cute animals and enjoying some Austin vibes, I can't recommend this place enough. It’s authentic, friendly, and a true classic. Don't forget to say hi to Miguel when you visit!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Callahan’s General Store is hands-down my favorite store in Austin. If you need anything for animals, feed, or farm supplies, this is the place to go — their prices are amazing and the selection is unbeatable. I especially want to shout out Curtis, who went above and beyond for me and my family. His knowledge, hospitality, and genuinely friendly attitude made the entire experience incredible. Curtis truly helped us find the perfect chickens and took the time to teach us so much about caring for them. You can tell he really knows his stuff and actually cares about helping people. Thanks to Curtis, we left feeling confident, informed, and very happy. This store and its staff are exactly why we keep coming back. Highly recommend! 🐓👏

Expansive store with Western wear, including boots and hats, kitchen supplies, hardware, and ranch supplies like feed. They also have live chickens, chicks, and bunnies. There is a taco truck just outside and the Crow Bar across the street to make your visit more fun.

Go here for all your ranch needs. Thid is great place for the rancher or the cowboy in you. This is a old Austin stable feed, clothing,cast iron pots and ranch supplies . Catch young chick's here in the spring. Go give this store a visit time for new boots are a hat they got you covered.
